What is Voice over WiFi?
Voice over WiFi (also known as WiFi Calling) is a service that allows you to make and receive calls and SMS using a WiFi network instead of the traditional mobile network.
The user calls and receives calls with their usual number, without the need to install additional applications (such as WhatsApp or Teams).
Voice over WiFi is especially useful in situations such as:
- Areas with poor or no mobile coverage (indoors, basements, buildings with poor signal).
- Travelling abroad, when there is access to WiFi but mobile coverage is limited.
- Offices or homes with stable WiFi.
Calls made via WiFi are charged the same as a normal call according to the line’s tariff.
How to activate Voice over WiFi on Android
- Open Settings.
- Go to Connections or Mobile networks.
- Select Calls or Mobile network.
- Activate the WiFi Calls or Voice over WiFi option.
- If requested, confirm the emergency address.
Once activated, the device will automatically use WiFi for calls if mobile coverage is poor.
