The University Library has the mission of facilitating access to and dissemination of information resources and collaborating in the processes of knowledge creation, in order to contribute to achieving the objectives of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid - art. 181.3 of the UPM Statutes.
UPM Library has 15 service points and the European Documentation Centre CEYDE. The physical space is organised across different campuses from which service is provided equally to the university community (students, teaching and research staff, technical, management, administration and services staff) and to society.

The digital services of the UPM Library are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs on open access to educational and scientific resources and preservation of digital heritage as expressed by the United Nations 2030 Agenda, the European open research initiative, the Spanish open science policy and the REBIUN strategy on the contribution of Spanish university and scientific libraries to the SDGs.
